Kristin Rummell first twirled around a ballroom during her freshman year at the University of Toledo when she joined the UT Ballroom Dance Society. This foray into partnership dancing fulfilled years of dreams previously squashed when her mom told her that ballroom dance "is for old people" (an opinion Mom quickly changed after experiencing the energy and enthusiasm of a collegiate ballroom competition).
During her time at UT, Kristin participated in collegiate and amateur competitions, holding leadership roles including vice president, president, and teaching beginner and intermediate lessons to the public and incoming team members. Her love of ballroom dancing didn't stop after college, when she joined the staff at Tanya's School of Dance in Lima, eventually spinning back to her roots in Toledo and accepting a teaching position at The Ballroom Company in Maumee in 2014.
She is a nationally recognized competitor in USA Dance with fellow TBC instructor Kyle Solmon, and now is focusing her professional dance career on preparing her students for their competitive journeys in NDCA and USA Dance competitions, as well as working with individuals and couples to achieve their own dance dreams. Kristin says that her ultimate goal is to help every student experience the pure, unadulterated joy that comes when nothing else in the world matters except the music, the movement, and your partner. Kristin lives in Perrysburg with her husband and daughter, and strives to teach others this truth: Life is better when you're dancing.
