Gil

Gil was introduced to the ballroom world at the University of Toledo.  While pursuing his degree, he joined the Ballroom Dance Society and competed in collegiate competitions as an amateur.  From 2001-2003, Gil was a professional instructor, pro-am competitor and studio co-owner of the former A.P. DanceSport Center of Sylvania, Ohio.

In September of 2003, Gil joined the staff of The Ballroom Company in Maumee, Ohio. He soon partnered with Nicole Nieves to compete in Professional American Rhythm competitions. They enjoyed a great deal of success in multiple competitions as finalists in the Rising Star and Open Professional American Rhythm Divisions.

Later, Gil and former TBC owner, Jacquelynn Myrice, competed  in the American Smooth and the American Rhythm Divisions. They placed as finalists in competitions held in  Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Florida.  In early 2009, they became the Michigan Dance Challenge Professional Rising Star American Rhythm Champions.

Gil has been a feature dancer with the Toledo Symphony on multiple occasions.  He has received Top Teacher Awards at competitions in the Midwest.  Gil has coached several clients on their way to winning USA Dance National Championship Titles.  He is also the current coach for the UT Ballroom Dance team.

Today, Gil is a husband, father of 3 children, and the owner of The Ballroom Company.  He and the entire TBC staff strive to carry on the studio's legacy of quality dance instruction in a relaxed, friendly and family oriented atmosphere.
